PCC men's soccer falls to Hesston College

Pratt Community College men's soccer had a match of two halves against Hesston College on Sept. 9. The Beavers had a three goal lead, but a late injury to defensemen Aaron Grant created the gap in defensive play Hesston needed to take advantage. PCC falls on late Hesston rally 3-4.

Uriel Argmendo-Contras opened up the scoring for the Blue and White in the first half. A penalty kick by Franchesco D'Aurelio and a goal by Aaron Grant two minutes later rounded out the scoring for the Beavers. Hesston rallied with several late goals to tie Pratt at 3-3. Hesston's Sammy Rios sealed the game with a goal in the final three minutes of play.

"After dominating the game and taking a 3-0 lead after 70 minutes the match looked to be headed to a victory for Pratt," said Head Coach Kevin Kewley. "Our leader and defensive captain Aaron Grant then gets injured and had to leave the field. He returned but was not one hundred percent. Hesston capitalized on the poor defensive play after the injury with several unanswered goals to take the win. Things must improve heading into the tough conference game against Dodge City."

PCC men's soccer travels to Dodge City on Sept. 17. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
