PCC volleyball falls in five set thriller to Garden City

The Pratt Community College volleyball team continued their four game home stand by hosting Garden City Community College on Sept. 18. Both teams battled in a five set thriller. In the end Garden City escapes the Beaver Dome with the win. PCC falls 2-3 (25-21; 18-25; 25-23; 19-25; 8-15) in sets.

Offensively, the Blue and White were led by Brooke Menhusen and Jordan Jones with 10 kills each. Lexi Schamberger and Stephanie Reichenberger followed with seven kills each. Taylor Groen-Younger continues to pass well for the Beavers. She ended the match with 34 assists. Defensively for PCC, Naomi Warren came up with 26 digs. She was followed by Groen-Younger with 12 digs. Gabrielle Ediger and Schamberger also had 11 digs apiece.

PCC volleyball closes out the home stretch with a game against Hutchinson on Sept. 20. It will be Black Out night in Dennis Lesh Sports Arena. First serve for the match is set for 6:30 p.m.
