PCC women's soccer drops an overtime heart breaker to Hesston

Pratt Community College women's soccer closed out their four game home streak with a match against Hesston College. Both teams locked in a defensive battle that took overtime to solve. In the end, Hesston's Miho Okuda struck a corner that found the head of Kenzie Johnson for the game winning goal. PCC drops a heartbreaker to Hesston 1-2 in overtime.

The Beavers got on the board first with a goal by Avery Villines at the 26 minute mark. Minutes later Okuda tied the game at 1-1. The match remained locked in the defensive stand still for the remainder of regulation. Halfway through the first overtime period came the Okuda to Johnson corner that dashed the hopes of the Blue and White.

Villines led Pratt with three shots in the match. Cala Jamison and Cheyenne Waller also added a shot each to the Beaver offense. Defensively for the Blue and White, goalkeeper Brittany Smith had 12 saves against Hesston. The player of the game goes to Hesston's Okuda with her goal and assist.

PCC women's soccer travels to Hutchinson for a match on Oct. 6. Kickoff for the match is set for 5 p.m.
