PCC softball returns home for a double header against Barton CC

Pratt Community College softball returned to Angood Field after a week on the road. The Beavers hosted Barton Community College in a conference double header. Pratt ran into a hard hitting Barton team that commanded both games from the plate. PCC drops both games of the double header going 0-2 on the day.

In Game 1, Barton took a three run lead in the third inning. The Blue and White tried coming back with runs in the fourth and fifth innings, but Barton continued to add to their lead. PCC falls in the first game 2-11.

Lyndsey Loomis led Pratt at the plate in Game 1. She finished with a perfect two for two with an RBI. Tymarra Bryant scored a run in her one for two plate appearances. Monica Courville was the other run for the Beavers in the game.

Unfortunately for the Blue and White, Game 2 was just a continuation of Barton's hot hitting. Pratt put up runs in the first, third, and fifth innings, but Barton scored runs each time they came to the plate. PCC loses Game 2 6-20.

Marisa Jonas joined Loomis' efforts at the plate in Game 2. Jonas ended the game with a two for three performance at bat with two RBIs and a run. Loomis went one for three at the plate with two RBIs and a run.

PCC softball travels to Enid, OK on March 10 to face Northern Oklahoma College-Enid in a double header. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
