PCC baseball begins four game series against Hutchinson CC

Pratt Community College baseball began a four game series against Hutchinson Community College to wrap up KJCCC play for the 2018 season. The first two games were a double header hosted by Hutchinson. Scoring woes plagued the Beavers in both games. Hutchinson capitalized and used their pitching to hold off Pratt and take the first two games in the series. PCC falls 1-7 in game on and 2-12 in game two.

Game one started out in a deadlock. In the first inning, the Blue and White loaded the bases and got on the board first thanks to Sean Johnson hitting into a fielder's choice and bringing Elerie Rivera home from third. Hutchinson tied the game up with a run in the bottom half of the inning. The deadlock broke in the fourth inning with four runs for Hutchinson. Pratt could not mount a rally as Hutchinson secured the win. PCC loses 1-7.

Gage Axline let the Beavers at the plate in game one. Axline batted two for three. Rivera followed hitting one for three with a run. Johnson got an RBI by scoring Rivera. On the mound, Dalton Huggins struck out six batters and walked five batters after facing 26 batters at the plate.
