PCC baseball faces Hutchinson CC in a Sophomore Day double header

Pratt Community College baseball closed out the home portion of the 2018 schedule with a Sophomore Day double header against Hutchinson Community College. The long ball was the story of the day as the ball sailed at Stanion Field. The first game was a high scoring battle until a big inning by Hutchinson in the seventh secured the win. Scoring woes plagued the Beavers in game two as Hutchinson capitalized for the win. PCC loses both games to Hutchinson 8-18 in game one and 4-20 in game two.

Keaton Gage, Elerie Rivera, and Ashton Roy led the offense for the Blue and White in the first game. Gage batted one for two with a team high two runs. Rivera hit two for five with a run and an RBI. Roy finished the game two for three at the plate with two RBIs and a run. Roy highlighted the late innings for Pratt with a home run to right field.

Game two saw other players rise to battle Hutchinson. Carl Cooper went one for two at the plate for the Beavers. Ben Van Diest batted one for three with a run. Sean Johnson hit one for four with a pair of RBIs and a run.

PCC baseball closes out the 2018 schedule on the road. First for the Beavers is a mid-week matchup against Northeast Oklahoma College-Enid on April 24. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
