Pratt narrowly loses win to Hutch on the raod

Pratt Community College traveled to Hutchinson, Kan. to take on the Blue Dragons on Jan. 19. It was a low scoring game that went right down to the wire ending in a narrow loss for the Beavers, 60-57.

Pratt managed to control the pace of the game throughout its entirety, holding Hutchinson to just 32 percent from the field and forced 16 turnovers. Pratt lead for the first half with the largest lead being eight points. Hutchinson went on a run to close the half leaving Pratt with a 1 point lead at the break.

In the second half the game was back and forth with several lead changes. With a tie game and 22 seconds to go Hutchinson hit a deep three pointer to take the lead. Pratt and Hutch went on to make 2 free throws each, leaving Pratt down 3 with only a couple seconds remaining in regulation. After completing a full court pass, Pratt missed the game tying three pointer at the buzzer, falling short by 3 points 60-57 to Hutch ranked 9 team in the country.
