Men’s basketball drops close game against Hutch

A second half loss to conference rival Hutchinson Community College pushed the losing streak to 4. The Beavers lost the home conference game 74-70, leaving them with an overall record of 11-15 and a conference record of 4-13.

Pratt would lead by as much as nine in the first half, but a 12-2 run by the Blue Dragons left them trailing by one with just over a minute to play. A three pointer in the closing seconds secured a two point lead going into the break.

The Beavers put together several nice runs, extending their lead to as much as six- a lead they would lose and regain in the final six minutes of the game.

With just over four minutes left to play, Hutchinson tied the game at 64-all. The lead would change hands four times in following two minutes, but it was the Blue Dragons who would come out on top in the end.

The Beaver basketball looks to break their losing streak this Wednesday, hosting Garden City Community College. In their last contest against the Broncbuster, Pratt controlled the pace of play to come out on top 66-64.
