Season ends with loss to Hutchinson

The Pratt Community College men's basketball team gave up a 19-4 run in the second half of the Region VI quarterfinal game against Hutchinson Community College Sunday afternoon, ending their season. The 91-74 loss to the Blue Dragons dropped the Beavers overall record to 15-17 to end the season.

The Beavers lost a two possession game to Hutchinson back in February, and the first half of Sunday's game was on track to be just as exciting after the first half of play. Pratt went into the second half trailing by just three- a gap they quickly closed with a 5-2 run.

Tied at 44, Hutchinson went on a shooting tear scoring nine straight possessions. The Beavers could not keep up, giving up a 19-4 run that put them down 65-48 with just under 12 minutes left in the game.

Hutchinson went on to outscore Pratt 49-35 in the second half to take the game 91-74. The Beavers gave up a double-digit shooting percentage and rebound deference in the season-ending loss.

Three Beavers finished the night with double-digit scoring. Teddy Fifer III went a perfect 10-10 from the charity to finish with 25 points, three assists and three steals. Blake Furcron came off the bench to score 18 points. He also added six rebounds to his stat sheet.

Tyvon Taylor rounded out the scoring with 17 points, three assists and three steals.

Pratt went 20-56 from the field, shooting 35.7 percent.
