Beavers Fall 100-60 in 2019-20 season opener

OTTUMWA, Iowa- An early defensive battle quickly got away from the Beavers in hostile territory against the sixth-ranked team in the country, with Pratt losing it's inaugural game of the 2019-20 season 100-60.

Three Pratt players ended the night in double-figures, with James Burns leading Pratt in scoring with 18 points, followed by 12 points from Zool Kueth and Jamel Horton notching 10 points of his own, eight of which came at the free throw line. In their first collegiate action, Tommy Thomas posted eight points, Harrison Eghan notched five points, while Jordan Horn and Julian Ezuikwu each scored two points. 

A defensive battle early on, the two teams combined for just 14 points over the first eight minutes of the fist-half, though the Warriors began to pull away following a bevvy of Beavers turnovers. Down 31-9 at the five-minute mark, Pratt managed to sneak back into the game, ending the first-half on a 16-9 run for a halftime score of 40-25. 

The Warriors' collective talent shined through the second-half, as the home team outscored the Beavers 60-35 the last 20 minutes of play.
