Beavers Down Moundbuilders 115-81

PRATT, Kans.- After watching the women of Beavers basketball fill up the scoreboard, Coach Flynn's team wasn't going to be outdone, winning 115-84 over the Southwestern College (JV) Moundbuilders.

Sophomore Zool Kueth was the star of the show for the second time in three days for the Beavers, piling up a team-high 27 points in only 18 minutes. Kueth finished the evening going 11-14 (79%) from the floor, including 5-6 from deep. The kid from Tennessee also snatched five rebounds to go with a pair of blocks.

Redshirt sophomore Jamel Horton shined as the point man for the Beavers, creating havoc offensively as well as on the defensive end. Horton ended the night with 17 points on five of nine shooting, making all four of his free throw attempts. His seven steals were a game high to boot. Freshman Julian Eziukwu posted a double-double for the second time in as many nights, recording 17 points to go 12 with rebounds. The big man even connected on both of his three-point attempts.

Freshman Carlos Montiel is a bundle of energy, and the Moundbuilders were unable to limit his effect on the game. Montiel's 12-12-7 line put a stamp on his best collegiate game thus far, with the Kansas native also nabbing 3 steals and a block.

The lone returner for the Beavers this season, Drew Honas put his smooth shooting stroke to good use, nailing four of his five three point attempts. His night ended with 16 points.

As a team, Pratt limited any hope Southwestern had for second-chance points, as the Beavers only surrendered four offensive rebounds. Coach Flynn's squad also played a relatively clean game with only 10 turnovers to the opposition's credit. Pratt has an abundance of confident long-distance shooters, and their attempts were largely successful tonight, as the Beavers shot nearly 50% from deep (18-38).
