Beavers End Season On The Road Against Butler

Pratt, Kan. - The Pratt Community College men's basketball team traveled to El Dorado, Kan. on Saturday, March 8 for the opening round of the NJCAA Region Six Men's Basketball Tournament against the Butler Community College Grizzlies. The Beavers unfortunately lost the game 95-78 to end their season 11-20 overall and 7-17 in conference play.  

The game started out close in a back-and-forth manner in the first ten minutes with four ties and two lead changes before Butler was able to pull away to a 47-34 halftime lead. In the second half Pratt managed to cut the Grizzlies lead to ten 71-81 with 4:54 left to go. Butler responded with a nine-point run making the score 71-90 with 2:38 left to play. The Beavers were only able to score seven points in the last two minutes to lose the game 95-78.  

Sophomore Jarrett Dingle lead the team with 23 points while Gavin Luketa contributed 16 points off the bench. Both Joseph Oparaeke (10 points) and Parker Whisenhunt (18 points) finished the game with double digit scoring.
