PCC men’s soccer devastates Coffeyville on the road

The Pratt Community College men's soccer team traveled to compete against Coffeyville Community College for the first away match of the season. Being away from home for the first time proved no challenge for the Beavers as they put up a season high of 6 goals. Pratt decimated Coffeyville on the scoreboard with a final score of 6-1. Each of Pratt's goals during the day were assisted upon.

Pratt began their scoring feast after a flustered Coffeyville backline sent a poorly cleared ball to the feet of Beaver forward Joe Brett. Brett took a strike at the ball which was deflected and then followed up and scored by midfielder Francesco D'Aulerio. Pratt's initial lead was short-lived however after the Red Ravens managed to score from outside the 18-yard box in the 26th minute. Within the last 2 minutes of first half, PCC regained the lead after midfielder Carlos Reyna sent in a free-kick set piece that ended up being headed in to the goal by Defender Rhys Farrow-Blance.

The second half is where Pratt began to run away with the lead. PCC scored 4 goals in the allotted 45 minutes. Coffeyville was unable to keep Pratt from the back of the net in any fashion. 4 different Beavers scored during the second period. Midfielder Victor Farina, and forwards Andrea Migliozzi and Keenan Kropp continued to put the beavers ahead by scoring a goal each. Farrow-Blance also managed to score again for his team in the second half after racking up 2 assists as well.

"As a team we dug in and won our individual battles on the pitch. This helped us win the match and give us the confidence we need to look strong headed into our game next Wednesday," said Farrow-Blance.

PCC men's soccer returns to action against Dodge City Community College for their first taste of conference play. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Sep. 5.
