PCC men's soccer drops conference match against Garden City

The Pratt Community College men's soccer team competed against Garden City Community College in a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference match-up. The contest was the first scheduled conference game of the season for the Beavers. Garden City was able to overcome Pratt for a final score of 2-0

Garden City opened up the game by scoring the only 2 goals of the contest. PCC's defense allowed for the 2 goals to fall within the first 10 minutes of competition which forced them to play from behind during the rest of the game. Goalkeeper Clayton Scott attempted to keep his team in the game with a spectacular defensive performance. Scott played all 90 minutes of the match and had a game high of 9 saves on the day.

Pratt attempted only 4 shots on goal against Garden. The Beavers were unable to score on a heavily defensive Garden City opponent. By gaining a significant lead early on, Garden was able to park the bus and set the pace of the match. Because of this, neither team was able to score in the second period. The Beaver's inability to find the back on the net resulted in a 0-2 loss.

PCC men's soccer returns to the pitch against Dodge City Community College on Sep. 10. Kickoff is set at 4 p.m.
