Men's soccer falls to Cloud County at home

The Pratt Community College men's soccer team took on Cloud County Community College in a home conference matchup. Home field advantage was not enough for the Beavers to take down the T-birds. Cloud County went on to take the match 5-2.

A game full of scoring kept home fans on their feet in Pratt, Kan. The first half alone saw two goals. Cloud County produced scores in the thirty-first and thirty-third minute marks. The two consecutive goals came quickly one after another and forced Pratt to play from behind the rest of the game.

The two teams combined for a total of five goals in the second half of play. In the last 45 minutes of the contest Francesco D'Aulerio found the back of the goal twice for PCC.

D'Aulerio scored both his goals in style. The first strike was a header that came from defender Scott Clark. Clark took a direct kick from the half line and crossed it into the box for his teammate to score.

D'Aulerio was also assisted by midfielder Nadir Cano-Lorente. Cano-Lorente received a ball that was deflected the opposition's keeper and sent it over the top inside the box. This time D'Aulerio adjusted to the ball for a crowd-pleasing bicycle kick that rocketed past the keeper and into goal.

Pratt's second and final goal came in the sixty-third minute. Even with two brilliant goals, the Beavers were outscored in the second half 3-2. A lack of first-half scoring contributed to Pratt's loss.

PCC men's soccer will compete again on Oct. 10. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. CST.
