PCC softball ends season 4-21 in Conference

A home double-header against Barton Community College concluded a tough season for the Pratt Community College softball team. The Lady Beavers finished the season 4-42 with a conference record of 4-21.

Pratt's first win didn't come until mid-March when they defeated Garden City Community College 7-1 and 8-4. They were able to carry some of that momentum into the following week and had some very close games against Hutchinson Community College before picking up another win against Northwest Kansas Technical College, a conference rival they defeated 14-4 in 5 innings.

The Lady Beavers picked up their second home win of the season against Independence Community College on April 10. They won the first game of the double-header 6-4 with Kiah Redd and Kenzie Anderson leading the team at the plate.

Redd went 2 for 2 at the plate with two runs batted in. Anderson was also perfect from the plate, going 4 for 4 with two RBIs and one run scored.

Pratt was the first on the board in the nightcap, scoring a solo run in the first inning. Independence scored a run in the third and two in the fourth to take a 3-1 lead, but Pratt bounced back with a two run inning the bottom of the fourth and the fifth to take back the lead.

The Lady Beavers went scoreless the remaining two innings as Independence put up eight unanswered points to take the game 11-5.

Following the loss to Independence, PCC softball ended their season with double-header losses to Hutchinson Community College, Butler Community College and Barton Community College.
