Five Beavers end indoor season as All-Americans

LYNCHBURG, Va.- Four Beavers competed their way to the final rounds of their respective events on Friday, and Saturday's closing session at the NJCAA National Indoor Track & Field Championships saw Pratt's group end its season on a high note. 

By way of reaching the final rounds of each event, five Beavers, including long jumper C.J. Hill who finished sixth in the nation with a distance of 7.26m, secured All-American status. That list includes Kadesha Prescott, Che Lara, Michael Hudson, and Warren Williams

Prescott clocked in at 7.47 seconds in the women's 60m dash on Friday, the sixth-best time in the preliminaries. In her final go at the 2019-20 National Championships, Prescott concluded with a time 7.48 seconds, finishing third-overall. Pratt's men's 400m dash qualifier, Lara's first round time of 48.34 seconds was good for sixth, leading Lara to up his game on Saturday. Closing his indoor season in Lynchburg, Lara also finished sixth after a final run-time of 47.73 seconds. 

Of the three Beavers to run in Friday's men's 60m dash, Hudson was the last Pratt runner standing, finishing seventh in the preliminaries and doing so by milliseconds. Hudson capped his indoor campaign with a sixth-place finish, clocking in at 6.84 seconds. Williams carried the momentum from his Friday seventh-place preliminary finish into a sixth-overall placement in Saturday's men's 60m hurdle finale. Williams qualified for the finals with a time of 8.06 seconds, and wrapped up his indoor season with a final round time of 8.16 seconds. 

Pratt's outdoor season begins on March 26 in Austin, Texas, where the Beavers will compete at the Texas Relays.
