The Pratt Community College women's basketball team returned to the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena for a single home game against Kansas Wesleyan University Junior Varsity. The Beavers remained undefeated at home after downing the Coyotes 85-46.

PCC scored nearly double the points of their opponent. The scoring feat was accomplished with a healthy display of ball movement. Pratt shared the sugar on offense for a total of 22 assists compared to the Coyotes' seven.

Point guard Dymond McElrath was the floor general for her team with a game-high of seven assists. She managed to post just as many numbers in the assist column as Kansas Wesleyan did as a unit. The freshman also gave her team extra looks by leading the way on the defensive end of the ball with four steals, many of which resulted in fast-break opportunities for her to dish out passes to her teammates.

Pratt utilized their entire roster during the game. 12-of-13 Beaver basketball players scored points in the contest. The team was led by forward Tytiana Haamid (14 points). Haamid was a force in the open court on fast-break situations and dominant in the post as well. She led her team in scoring rightfully so after shooting a remarkable 7-of-9 from the floor. Haamid achieved the title of leading scorer in only 12 minutes of court time.

Although efficient in putting numbers on the board, Pratt's night was not defined by scoring alone. The Beavers displayed dominance on the boards as well. A 52-29 rebound advantage helped give PCC an edge. The blue and white took 31 more shots than Kansas Wesleyan, largely due to the 24 offensive rebounds that they earned. By the end of the night, Pratt scored 20 second-chance points.

Many individuals showed grit on the glass including forward Rylee Alexander who led all players with eight rebounds, with six of them coming on the offensive end.

Kansas Wesleyan could only managed to take 47 shots. The Beaver defense held the Coyotes to a total of 13 makes for an overall shooting performance of 28 percent. The event started out as a close contest between both sides until PCC found their rhythm offensively. Pratt led by a mere 16-12 at the end of the first quarter. The second period was a different story. Pratt scored 20 points in the 10-minute time frame and held Kansas Wesleyan to only seven.

Pratt continued to put the game away at the start of the second half. In the third quarter the Beavers amassed 29 points to help put them over the edge. The fourth quarter was much closer between both sides, but a winner was decided much earlier. PCC's lead was far too great to overcome in a single quarter. Kansas Wesleyan never outscored Pratt in any of the four periods.  

PCC women's basketball will copmete again when they take on Allen County Community College on Nov. 28. The contest will mark the beginning of conference play. The game will tip off at 6 p.m.
