Women’s basketball falls to 9-7 in conference with loss to Seward

Courtney Cleveland put up 17 points in Saturday's road game against Seward County Community College. The Pratt Community College women's basketball team lost the conference game 66-59.

Seward, one of the toughest teams in the conference, entered the contest with a 21-2 overall record. Pratt started the first quarter down 21-14 but were able to turn the tide to tie the game at 35 by halftime. Seward pulled ahead in the third, taking a six point lead into the final quarter. Seward took the game 66-59, dropping the Lady Beavers to 9-7 in the conference.

Cleveland was on rebound away from notching double-double. She finished the night with 17 points, nine rebounds and four steals. The Lady Beavers had great point production from the bench, with Rachel Tippens scoring 11 points and pulling nine rebounds.

ChaDricka Pickett rounded out the top three scorers with ten points, five rebounds and two assists.

Pratt will return home for conference play tonight, hosting Hutchinson Community College. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
