Cleveland notches double-double in win over CCC

The Pratt Community College women's basketball team knocked down eight threes in a monster 66-43 win over Coffeyville Community College. This was the first postseason home game in 17 years for the Lady Beavers.

The three ball came early and often for PCC. Dymond McElrath started the game with a three before Coffeyville scored five consecutive points. McElrath ended their run with another three from the top of the key, giving Pratt a 6-5 lead with four minutes off the clock.

The rest of the fourth quarter was all Pratt, as they would go on a 16-3 run to end the first up 22-8.

Pratt scored 10 unanswered points to start the second quarter. Coffeyville's had several empty possessions as their shooting trouble spilled over into the second. Their first basket didn't come until 4:55 in the second.

Shooting 5-12 from three-point range and over 50 percent from the field, the Lady Beavers won the first half 40-15. Courtney Cleveland led the scoring with 15 points.

The Red Ravens had their best quarter in the third, outscoring Pratt 15-14.

Pratt carried a 22 point lead into the fourth. The Lady Beavers were able to get to the line early in the quarter, but had trouble knocking down free-throws shooting just over 50 percent. Coffeyville ended the game strong with a pair of three in the fourth, but again only outscored the Lady Beavers by a single point.

The Lady Beavers won the game 66-43 to prolong their season.

Courtney Cleveland put up some impressive numbers for PCC. In her 32 minutes on the court, she notched a double-double with 23 points, ten rebounds and three steals. Her efficiency was also impressive, ending the game with 0 turnovers and no personal fouls.

Rylee Alexander put up 12 points, going four of six from beyond the arc. Jazmin George rounded out the scoring for the Lady Beavers, finishing with ten points.
