Pratt unable to best Coffeyville, lose 75-61

COFFEYVILLE, Kan.- A hard-fought afternoon matchup with the Coffeyville Red Ravens did not fall in the favor of the Beavers, as Coach Ishee's team was on the wrong end of a 75-61 score.

Janelle Douvier had her most productive scoring output of the 2019-20 season, scoring a season-high 18 points to go with 12 rebounds. She was three for eight from beyond the three-point line and seven of 10 from the free throw stripe. Along with Douvier, Dymond McElrath the second Beaver to end the afternoon in double-figures, posting 10 points. She also had five rebounds and a pair of assists from her usual point guard position.

Jordan Mathis continues to be a wrecking ball down on the low block, as she notched a game-high 10 rebounds, two of which were on the offensive end of the floor.

It was a tough shooting night overall for Pratt, as the ladies shot only 29 percent from the field (16-56), including 21 percent from three-point range (6-28). Even so, through three quarters, the Beavers trailed the Red Ravens 48-47, though Pratt fell behind late and Coffeyville did well to keep the visiting team at bay.

The loss gives the Beavers their first conference defeat of the season (2-1), and are now 8-4 overall. Coach Ishee's group hosts Independence on Wednesday, December 11 as the first leg of a doubleheader. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
