Beavers fall 52-47 in El Dorado

EL DORADO, Kan.- A tough shooting night proved to be the downfall for the Beavers, as Coach Ishee's team was on the wrong end of a 52-47 score.

Jordan Mathis led the Beavers in scoring with 13 points off the bench, as the do-it-all freshman was an efficient 63 percent from the field (5-8) to go with her six rebounds. Mathis was the lone Beaver to finish the evening in double-figures.

Pratt was unable to find an offensive rhythm in a game with 37 fouls called, as the Beavers shot only 30 percent from the field (17-56), including 16 percent from beyond the arc (5-31). Compared to the Grizzlies' 74 percent from the free throw line, the Beavers connected on only 53 percent of their tries (8-15). Butler also outmuscled Pratt down on the block, winning the rebounding margin 36-23.

The loss moves Pratt to 10-5 on the season, and 4-2 in conference play. The women return to action on Saturday, January 11 for a 2 PM tip-off against Cloud County.
