Beavers on the Wrong Side of Double OT Thriller

Pratt, Kan. - The Trojans of Colby Community College (CCC) were in town last night to take on the Pratt Community College (PCC) Beavers. The game started with a back and forth 1st quarter with the Trojans taking a slight seperation 17-13 at the end of one. In the second quarter, the Beavers pulled ahead and went on a 21-6 run to lead 34-23. The third quarter was very heavily matched with only a one point deference between the teams, but in the 4th the Trojans come roaring back 20-8 to tie the game 63-63. 

At the end of the 1st overtime period the game was still tied with both teams scoring eight points in the period. The Trojans pulled ahead in the 2nd overtime period and ended up winning the game 83-77. Over the course of last nights game the lead changed six times and and the game was tied 12 times.

"The team played really heard," said head coach Eric Rodewald. "We just didn't have enough left to finish." 

Sophomores Chariah Daniels and Christy Wiebe both had double doubles for the game. Daniels had 19 points and 14 rebounds in the game. Wiebe had 19 points and 10 rebounds in the game. Also for the Beavers, sophomore Lianna Washington came off the bench to score 10 points which is her season high. For the Trojans, sophomore guard lead the team with 21 points. 

The Beavers are back in action on Saturday night against the Barton Cougars. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm in the Beaver Dome.
