Beavers Lose on the Road Against #13 Dodge City

Pratt, Kan. - The Pratt Community College women's basketball team after coming off two straight wins to start the new year took their show on the road, Wednesday January 11 to face the #13 Dodge City Community College Conquistadors. Dodge City entered the game with an overall record of 14-2 and 9-1 in conference play.  

After Dodge City pulled ahead in the game early, the Beavers tied the game 14-14 with 5:19 left in the first quarter. The Beavers would continue to pull closer to the Conquistadors, but Dodge City would keep making big shots and lead 25-21 after quarter one. More of the same happened in the second quarter with the Conquistadors holding a 40-35 halftime lead. By the 8:14 mark of the third quarter, Dodge City had pulled ahead by ten points. Pratt never got close as the Conquistadors lead after three quarters 67-54. The trend continued in the fourth quarter as Dodge City rolled to a 89-73 win.  

Princess Anderson continued her scoring prowess with 35 points and seven rebounds in the game. Isis Sanders was the only other Beaver in double digits with 18 points. Pratt was outrebounded 52-33 and turned the ball over 19 times. Pratt will look to put this game past them as the host Cowley College on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm in the Beaver Dome.
