Pratt Community College freshman Haven Johannsen was named the Jayhawk Conference Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week after a 2-game stretch that included 24 saves, and even an assist.

Johannsen was a deciding factor in her team's 3-1 week seven victory against Garden City Community College, where she disrupted 11 of 12 shots on frame. Johannsen continued to earn double-digit deflections in her last match of the week by blocking out 13 strikes against Cloud County Community College.

This season the freshman now holds 82 saves on just 10 appearances in goal for the Beavers. Sixty-six of her rejections come from eight games played against conference foes. A career save percentage of .854 has helped to produce a clean sheet on two separate occasions for her team this year.

"It feels great to be nominated for this award. I feel very humbled to win it. I could not have done it without the support of my back line. They are a big part of my success," said Johannsen. "I will keep putting in extra work the rest of the season so my team can succeed. I'm honored to be alongside a team who brings out my fullest potential. Also a huge thanks to my coach who challenges and encourages me to become a better player."

Johannsen will look to continue defending the goal for her team in the last four contests of the regular season. The Beavers can be seen in action again when they take on Barton County Community College on Oct. 13.
