Women's Soccer Set to Start Conference Play Tonight

Pratt, Kan. – The Pratt Community College (PCC) women's soccer team hosts the Southeast Community College (SCC) Storm this afternoon, September 14 to kick off Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play. The Storm are currently 2-4 with only one win coming on the road. The match is set for 4:00 pm at the Pratt Soccer Complex.

"Every year is definitely different in juco with a lot of girls graduating and they actually had a coaching change which may change how they play," said Head Women's Soccer Coach Ashley Cordeiro. "The biggest thing is we are just trying to focus on our game. We have been working on a lot of things that we want to clean up and tweak from previous games."

The Beavers traveled to Bartlesville, OK on Saturday, September 11 to take on Oklahoma Wesleyan (JV). The team was able to win the game 2-0. Earlier in the week, on September 7 they traveled to Metropolitan Community College (MCC) in Liberty, MO. The game was postponed just before halftime due to a player injury. On Saturday, September 3 the Beavers hosted Dodge City Community College (DCCC) Conquistadors. The game ended in a 2-2 tie after double overtime.

"Things have not gone as planned with scheduling and some season ending injuries," said Coach Cordeiro. "In each of our five games we have seen consistent improvement in each game which we hope will pay off in tonight's game."
