Volleyball drops road contest to Colby

The Pratt Community College volleyball team competed against Colby Community College for the second time this year. The Beavers traveled for a single away game against the Trojans in hopes of obtaining yet another conference victory. Pratt fell short of their goal in the end as Colby took the win in three sets 3-0 (25-15; 25-11; 25-17).

Scoring woes plagued the Beavers on the road. Pratt looked to put the ball away by taking an identical number of swings to Colby. The two teams took the same amount of offensive attempts in every set except the first where Pratt took just one less. The best offensive numbers for PCC came from middle blocker Elise Baranco who had eight kills in the three sets played.

Pratt holds a sixth place position in the KJCCC standings after a loss to Colby. Six more conferences games lie ahead for the Beavers to compete in as the season continues.

PCC volleyball looks to compete in conference again against Barton Community College on Oct. 6. Home fans can view the Beavers in action starting at 6:30 p.m.
