Beavers Pick up Two Wins During Yesterdays Triangular

Pratt, Kan. – The Pratt Community College Volleyball team picked up two wins yesterday, September 30 against Fort Scott Community College and Bethany College (JV). Both wins came as a part of a triangular the team hosted in the Beaver Dome.

The Beavers faced the Greyhounds of Fort Scott Community College to start the afternoon off. In the first set, the Beavers held on to win 25-21, but were unable to hold on to their momentum in the second set losing 25-11. Pratt was able to respond in the third set with a 25-22 win to lead the match 2-1 heading into set four. The team held on to win the match 3-1 with a fourth set victory of 25-22.

Later that evening, the Beavers faced Bethany College (JV) after the Swedes had come back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Fort Scott 3-2. Pratt wasted no time in the match winning set one 25-7 and set two 25-20 to take a 2-0 lead. The Swedes were not going to go down easy as they managed to win set three 25-17. With a 2-1 lead, heading into the fourth set, the Beavers decided to not let the Swedes repeat their comeback from earlier in the day and won set four 25-19 to win the match 3-1. Pratt doubled their total wins on the season and now sit at 4-13 overall and 0-7 in the conference.

The team will try and build off their momentum as they travel to El Dorado, KS on Saturday, October 1 to face the #20 Butler Grizzlies. They will then return home on Monday, October 3 to host the Barton Cougars. Gametime is set at 6:30 pm in the Beaver Dome.
