Beavers take road series against Northeast Texas Community College

The Pratt Community College baseball team made the long drive to Mount Pleasant, Texas over the weekend. The Beavers gave up game one on Friday before taking game two on Friday and game three on Saturday.

Game one only saw seven innings. The Beavers gave up 10 runs in the first three innings. Sean Johnson scored Pratt's first run in the fourth after tagging up on a sacrifice fly hit by Brenden Tauber. The Eagles would answer with a two-run inning.

The Beavers scored one more run in the seventh and final inning. They lost game one 17-2.

Pratt stole the lead late and defeated Northeast Texas 8-6 during the nightcap. Trailing 6-3 going into the seventh. Elerie Rivera stole home on an error to pull Pratt within two. They would take the lead in the eighth with a four-run inning. The Eagles went scoreless in the seventh, eighth and ninth for Pratt to pick up a 8-6 win to tie the series.

Saturday's deciding game went into extra innings. Pratt kicked off the game by scoring two runs in the top of the first. Northeast Texas Community College scored runs in the fourth and fifth to tie the game. Pratt took the lead back in the top of the ninth.

Rivera would hit a line drive to left field, scoring Treven Veltman. Johnson picked up the second RBI, bringing in Landon Hulet.

The Eagles bounced back in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at four.

The tenth inning went scoreless.

Rivera would again score Veltman in the 11th for the game winning run. The 5-4 victory of the Eagles improved the Beaver's record to 4-1 on the season. They will travel to Alva, Okla. Today for a doubleheader against Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
