Beavers give up seventh inning lead to Barton

The Pratt Community College men's baseball team will look to break a three-game losing streak, hosting Southeast Community College in a four game home series this weekend. The Beavers currently hold an 18-25 overall record and are 5-19 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.

The Beavers started the month of April on a six-game losing streak that included a four-game series against Garden City Community College, a conference rival. They continued their conference run against Hutchinson Community College. They gave up game one 10-0 but bounced back in game two, taking a very close 11-10 game.

The Blue Dragons came back to win games three and four at Hutchinson, taking the series 3-1.

Pratt hosted Barton Community College last Tuesday. The Beavers gave up a three-point lead in the seventh inning to lose the game 5-3. Pratt struggled at the plate late in the game. Khalir Vazquez led the team going 2-5 with one run. Michael Davis and Rivera both went 1-4 from the plate with one run.

The loss dropped Pratt's overall record to 18-25 and they are currently 5-19 in conference play. They will continue their five-game home stand this Saturday, hosting Southeast Community College in a three-game series.

Game one is set to start at 1 p.m.
