
Pratt, Kan. - The Pratt Community College Esports Valorant team defeated the Pennsylvania State University Valorant white team 2-1 on Friday, Feb. 14 to open their Unified Collegiate League season 1-0. The team will face the Ohio State University next Friday, Feb. 21.
The best of three match started on the Lotus map with Pratt taking the momentum early on and holding on to win 13-10. In the next map, Bind the Beavers were never able to put into play their strategies and ended up losing 13-4. In the final map, Pearl Pratt quickly regained momentum and finished the match with a 13-3 win.
"I am incredibly proud of this team and their resiliency to keep fighting and working hard as a cohesive unit throughout the match," said head Esports coach Charles Keefer. "To win against a school of Penn State's caliber puts our program on the map in a big way and helps set us apart from our competition when it comes to recruiting top talent."
