Men's Soccer Set to Host Central in Opening Round of Playoffs

Pratt, Kan. - The Pratt Community College Beavers traveled to Hesston, KS yesterday, October 19 to face the Larks of Hesston College. The Beavers could not end their regular season without yet another overtime thriller. At the end of regulation. the game was notched up 1-1 with the only goal scored by Pratt coming from Grabrield Dias Juliani off an assit by Gabriel Lira his second of the year. In overtime, the Beavers took care of buisness with a game winning goal from Joseph Rivera off an assist from Omar Rios. Pratt held on to win 2-1. 

After the final regular season games wrapped up last night, the National Junior College Athletic Association announced the seedings and matchups for the Region VI tournament. Pratt finished runner-up to Allen County in regular season play and are set to host the Central Community College Raiders on Wednesday, October 26. Game time is set for 5:00 PM at the Pratt Soccer Complex. Over the course of the regular season, the Beavers have faced the Raiders twice in two very close matchups. The first coming on September 24 when the Beavers won 4-3 in overtime at home. This past Saturday, October 15 Pratt traveled to Columbus, NE and after 120 minutes the game finished in a 3-3 tie. 

If the Beavers are able to defend home field they will then face the winner of Southeast Community College and Allen County. If Allen County were to be victorious the Beavers would travel to Iola, KS on Saturday, October 29 to face the Red Devils. If Southeast would win, the Storm would travel to Pratt, KS on October 29 for a game at the Pratt Soccer Complex. The time of that matchup is to be announced. 

The Beavers are entering the Region VI playoffs as the defending region and conference champions from a year ago. They finished the regular season 7-3-3 and 5-2-1 in conference play. The team has won five out of their last six games to advance to the playoffs. With the sixth being the tie against Central.
