Beavers Swept at Home Against Garden City

Pratt, Kan.- The Pratt Community College Beavers faced the Garden City Community College (GCCC) Broncbusters in a two-game Kansas Jayhawk Community College Association (KJCCC) series.

The Broncbusters swept the Beavers on the afternoon as Pratt fell to 1-11 overall and 0-10 in conference play. The Beavers will travel to Liberal, KS on Saturday, March 19th to take on Seward County.

Game One

Freshman Shealee Paull started game one on the mound for the Beavers. After one inning Garden City took a 1-0 lead. In the second inning, the Broncbusters added two runs to make it 3-0. In the bottom of the third inning, the Beavers stranded two runners on second and third as Garden City pulled ahead 7-0. The Beavers started the bottom of the fourth inning with the bases loaded and were able to bring across four to make it 7-4 headed to the fifth inning. Garden City added two more runs in the fifth inning to lead 9-4. Garden City won game one in the top of six inning with a score of 15-4.  

Game Two

Sophomore Brianna Aragon started game two on the mound for the Beavers. Both teams brought across runs in the first inning with Garden City taking a slight lead 3-1. In the second inning, the Broncbusters added six runs to take a 9-1 lead into the third inning. During the third inning freshman Bryanna Gallagher came into pitch as Garden City grew their lead to 17-1. Paull came back to the mound in the fourth inning as Garden City brought across three runners to make it 20-1. With the Beavers unable to bring home any more runners the Broncbusters won game two after five innings 20-1.
