Women's basketball beats KWU 76-36

PRATT, Kans.- It was Upland Bird Hunting Night at the Beaver Dome, but down the barrel, Coach Ishee's group was eyeing yet another early-season win.

The hunt was successful, with the Beavers pulling away from the Kansas Wesleyan junior varsity squad by a score of 76-36. The alwats-reliable Rylee Alexander led the charge for Pratt, scoring 14 points on five of seven attempts, compiling six rebounds while forcing three Coyote turnovers. She was also among the team leaders in assists with three. The Beavers newest deep threat, Jaylyn Taylor came off the bench to score eight points of her own, going 2-5 from the three-point line. She was also 2-2 from the free throw stripe.

Sophomore Eva Sanchez was an efficient four of six from the field to go with six rebounds. In limited minutes, freshman center Jada Moss also snatched six rebounds.

It was a well-rounded effort for the Beavers, as all 15 players scored in the 40-point win. Coach Ishee's defensive teachings have continued to maintain a high level of results, with the Beavers forcing 23 Kansas Wesleyan turnovers. In two of the Beavers' first three games, opposing teams have forfeited possession on 20-plus occassions.
