Women's Basketball

Earlier this month, the Beavers traveled to southeast Colorado to play in the Otero Classic, where the host school pulled away from Pratt late in a 77-65 loss. In search of some early-season revenge, the Beaver women were unable to shut the door on a gritty Rattlers team, losing 68-66 earlier this afternoon.

Rylee Alexander led the Beavers in scoring with 17 points on 7-17 shooting, adding a pair of rebounds and five assists to her stat line. Jordan Mathis posted 13 points, where she was 50 percent from the field (5-10). She also had a game-high six offensive rebounds. Jaylyn Taylor was third and final Beaver to finish the afternoon in double figures, as the crafty lefty was 3-7 from deep, as the three-ball accounted for nine of her 10 points. 

The Beavers will undoubtedly look at the free throw line as an area of "what if", as Coach Ishee's team connected on only 10 of 22 from the stripe. As a whole it was a tough day from the field, as the Beavers only shot 38 percent (24-63), and saw only 25 percent of their three-pointers fall (8-32).

The group will have no time to hang their heads however, as they welcome Sterling College's junior varsity team to the Beaver Dome on Monday, December 2. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 PM.

Men's Basketball

The latter game of the doubleheader gave the men a chance to showcase a little bit of everything, as the Beavers cruised to a 95-71 win over Bethel College's junior varsity team. 

James Burns led all scorers with 27 points, and his work on the boards also went for a game-high 18 rebounds. Tonight marked Burns' second double-double as a Beaver. Zool Kueth maintained his strong work on the offensive end of the floor, finishing the game with 20 points on 61 percent shooting (8-13). He was also four of seven from the three-point line.

Deontae Davis and John Long also ended the night in double-figures, as the pair each recorded 10 points of their own. The two were a combined five of 11 from the long distance. 

The Beavers did well to retain possession for the entirety of the evening, winning the rebounding battle 52-22, while out-rebounding the Threshers 17-5 on the offensive end. Pratt was efficient with its opportunities as well, shooting 50 percent from the field (35-70) and 41 percent from beyond the arc (13-32). 

The men will hit the road on Wednesday, December 4 for a road conference game against Cowley County. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
