Pratt, Kan. – The Beavers will return to KJCCC action this afternoon in Concordia, KS taking on the Cloud County T-Birds.
On The Air
Saturday's game can be heard on KMMM 1290 with Austin McNorton calling the action. McNorton is in his first year as voice of the Beavers. The game will be streamed on cloudtbirds.com.
Last Time Out
Last Saturday afternoon the Beavers were in El Dorado, KS to face the #10 Butler Grizzlies. The game was lopsided from the beginning with the Grizzlies winning 88-44. Both sophomore Chariah Daniels and freshman Destiny Young has 12 points in the game.
Scouting the T-Birds
The Cloud County T-Birds are 5-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play. They beat Northwest Tech in their first conference game of the season and most recently lost at Seward County 90-80. They average 81.8 points, 45.0 rebounds, and 14.7 assists per game.
The leading scorer for the T-Birds is freshman guard Te Araroa Sopoaga who averages 13.2 points a game. Freshman Kay Hauata Phillips and Rori Cox also average over 10 points a game. On the other side of the ball Phillips averages 7.1 rebounds a game.
Last Season vs. T-Birds
Last season the Beavers only faced Cloud County once on the road and lost in OT 64-63.
It's Saenz Time
Sophomore guard Demi Saenz will suit up for the first time as a member of the Beaver basketball team. Saenz has been a member of the team since the beginning of the semester as a student manager and practice player. Last spring, Saenz played volleyball for the Beavers. She played basketball at Kinsley High School and played in the Beaver Dome her senior year in the Sub-State regional tournament.
Onwugbufor Returns
Sophomore guard Cassie Onwugbufor will be back in the lineup after missing the Butler game after being injured the game prior at Hutch. Onwugbufor will bring additional depth the Beavers need moving forward. This season Onwugbufor has averaged 6.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists a game.

The Beavers will return home for a Wednesday night matchup with the Trojans of Colby Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for December 8th at 5:30 pm.
