Pratt Athletics Hosted 5th Annual Beaver Backer Golf Tournament

The 5th Annual Beaver Back Golf Tournament took place on Friday, August 18, bringing together golf enthusiasts from various companies and organizations for a day of friendly competition to raise funds for the PCC Athletic Department. The tournament, held at Park Hills Country Club, featured two flights - the Championship Flight and the First Flight.

In the Championship Flight, Meigs and Associates emerged as the winners, securing the first-place position with an impressive score of 50. Legacy Bank followed closely behind, taking the second-place spot with a score of 53. Eisenhauer, Johnston, Lynch, Eisenhauer and Barry Fisher/Kevin Hamm tied for third place, both teams finishing with a score of 54. Pratt Community College Team #1 and Carr Auction and Real Estate tied for fifth place, both teams scoring 60. The Law Company rounded out the Championship Flight, finishing in seventh place with a score of 60.

The First Flight also saw some fierce competition, with Stanion Wholesale Electric Company claiming the top spot with a score of 61. The Peoples Bank secured second place with a score of 62, while Kincheloe’s/KanEquip finished in third place with a score of 63. Lesh Motors took fourth place with a score of 65, followed by Scouler in fifth place with a score of 68. The Peoples Bank #2 and Pratt Community College #2 finished in sixth and seventh place, respectively, with scores of 69 and 73.

In addition to the team rankings, several hole prizes were awarded to individual players. Alex Ballinger won the Closest to Pin prize, showcasing his accuracy and precision on the course. Derek Barnard took home the Longest Putt prize, demonstrating his skill in reading the greens. Lastly, Hew Brown claimed the Longest Drive prize, showcasing his power and distance off the tee.

“A big thank you to all who participated in our event.  This has become a great tradition since I became the Athletic Director.  Many of these teams have played each year and I greatly appreciate their support," said Athletic Director Tim Swartzendruber. "We had 40 holes sponsors this year and a big thank you to each of them.  Park Hills did a wonderful job hosting us.  Special thanks to Hallie Riffey and Ashley Schmidt.”
