The 2023-2024 academic year will be Sean McElwee's 2nd year at Pratt Community College as the assistant baseball coach.
In coach McElwee's first season he was a part of a team that had the most wins with 25 since 2012 and won the first playoff game since 2019. Under his guidance, the pitching staff went from 346 strikeouts to 382 in 2023. In addition, the team increased their stolen bases from 28 to 117 in 2023. In his first year the Beavers to two players to NCAA Division 1 institutions and three players to NCAA Division II institutions.
Sean McElwee played at Pratt Community College during 2018-2019 seasons and went on to play at Washburn University until 2021. Coach Mac has received a bachelor's degree in integrated studies from Washburn. He plans to work towards a master's degree in sports admin.
Coach McElwee lives in Pratt, Kansas with his fiancé Danielle and his daughter Sadie
