Beaver Baseball on 5 Game Winning Streak

Pratt, Kan. - The Pratt Community College (PCC) baseball team recently opened their spring 2022 campaign. The team traveled to Iola, Ks for four games against the Red Devils of Allen County Community College (ACCC). After dropping the first game 6-5 the Beavers fought back to win the series three games to one. After scoring four runs in the fifth inning the Beavers lead game two 5-1 entering the final two innings. They scored an addition seven runs to finish day one in Iola with a win 12-2. On day two, the Beavers won game one in the top of the seventh inning by a score of 1-0. They completed the three game sweep of the Red Devils in the final game with a score of 8-6. The Beavers had a total of 36 hits in four games and freshman outfielder Michael Acosta finished the series with six hits, five runs, and three RBIs.

The Beavers held their home opener on Valentines Day afternoon against the Tabor College (JV) Bluejays. In game one, Pratt got off to an early lead with six runs in the bottom of the third inning. Tabor would get two runs across in the top of the fourth, but the Beavers held on to win 8-2. Sophomores Marcelo Aguirre and Josue Vazquez both picked up big hits in the third inning to bring across four runs. In game two, the Beavers scored five runs in the first two innings and held on to sweep the Bluejays with a score of 7-0. In game two, sophomore Mitchell Smith had three hits and two RBIs. 

The Beavers will be back in action tomorrow afternoon taking on the Northern Oklahoma College- Enid (NOCE) Mavericks. First pitch is scheduled at Stanion Field at 1:00 pm.
