Beavers Looking for Wins This Week Against Garden City

Pratt, Kan.- Pratt Community College (PCC) is set to face the Garden City Community College (GCCC) Broncbusters in a four-game series this Thursday, April 21 and Saturday, April 23. The first two games are scheduled to be played at home in Stanion Field with game one starting at 1:00 pm. The Beavers will then travel to Garden City on Saturday, April 23 to finish the series. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 pm.

Quick Hitters

Currently on a five-game losing skid and with only two wins in the month of April. One win came against Johnson County and the other was against Dodge City.

Pratt only has five wins at home this season, but has been close to .500 on the road with a 11-13 away record.

Beavers only hitting .289 on the year with 35 home runs. Mitchell Smith continues leading the team with an .430 average, 10 homeruns, and 59 RBIs.

Cason Long continues his streak as a two-way player for the Beavers. Long is hitting .351 with 39 hits, 29 RBIs, and six homeruns. On the mound Long has a 2.89 ERA giving up 39 hits with 60 strikeouts.

Freshman Gavin Djurovic has become a quality player in the Beavers rotation. Djurovic is currently hitting .281 with 38 hits, 20 RBIs, and three homeruns. In the field, Djurovic has 47 putouts with one assist and four errors.

Scouting the Broncbusters

They are 11-30-1 overall and 4-16 in the conference. Currently in the conference rankings the Broncbusters are next to last over the Beavers.

They have only won one game in the month of April… they defeated Colby 15-4 last Thursday, April 14. They are currently on a two-game losing streak.

Garden City averages .283 in the box with 22 home runs this season. Will Gardner leads the hitting unit for the Broncbusters with a .380 average. Gardner had 46 hits, 29 RBIs, and two homeruns on the season.

The pitching unit for the Broncbusters has a combined 9.60 ERA with 298 strikeouts this season. The unit is averaging 9.44 strikeouts per nine innings.
