Pratt, Kan. - The Pratt Community College men's basketball team opened their 2023 season on the road against the Broncbusters of Garden City on Wednesday, January 4. The Beavers dominated the game from the start leading 18-13 at the halfway mark of the first half. After several back-and-forth ties Garden City was able to pull ahead 39-35 at halftime. Pratt was never able to regain the lead in the second half, only being able to pull the game within two points 64-62 with 2:52 left in the game. The Broncbusters rolled to a 73-67 win.
Quintin Metcalf led the team with 16 points and nine rebounds. Cidiebere Obichere had 13 points with five rebounds. Both DJ Bailey and Jaylen Davis had ten points in the game. Pratt was outrebounded 31 to 28 with 19 turnovers. Pratt had 24 assists in the game as well.
The Beavers will host the Red Ravens of Coffeyville Community College on Saturday, January 7. Gametime is set for 4:00 pm in the Beaver Dome.
