Men's Soccer Wraps up Season at Central

The Beaver men's soccer team wrapped up their 2023 season on October 18 on the road at Central Community College in Columbus, NE. The team finished their season 4-10-1 overall and 3-9 in conference play with conference wins over Allen County and Hesston College.  

Game Recap 

In the first half, Central Community Co took an early lead with a goal from Donovan Williams at the 17-minute mark. Williams displayed his individual prowess by scoring unassisted, giving his team a 1-0 advantage. Central continued to dominate the game, and Tobias Sereinig extended their lead with another unassisted goal in the 37th minute. 

Both teams displayed solid defensive performances, with Central's goalkeeper, Jesse Wubs, making two saves. Pratt's goalkeepers, Joao Ferreira, and Brandon Bumgarner made nine saves throughout the game. 

In statistics, Central Community Co dominated the match, taking 10 shots, with three on target. Pratt, on the other hand, only had three shots on goal in the match.  

Season Recap 

Sophomore Gustavo Dias Juliani lead the team with nine goals off 18 shots this season with 19 points. Lucas Barcelos lead the team with six assists and had three shots on goal for 12 points. In the goalies' box, Brandon Bumgarner lead the squad with 65 saves and 23 goals allowed and ended the season with a 4-7-1 record. Freshman goalkeeper Joao Ferreira had 20 saves with two goals allowed for a 0-2-0 record. Overall, the team scored 22 goals in 15 games with 16 assists.
