Pratt Announces 2022 Tennis Schedule

Pratt, Kan. - Pratt Community College (PCC) and Head Tennis Coach Jeret Johnson are excited to announce the fall 2022 men's and women's tennis schedule. This fall will be the inagural season for the women's tennis team with the men's team looking to build on this past year's success. 

Both teams will open their season at home on September 3rd with a home tournament. Jacksonville College (JC) from Jacksonville, TX and Newman University (NU) are both confirmed for the tournament. The men's team will travel for the second straight year to the OKC Invite taking place on September 9 and 10 in Oklahoma City, OK. Members of the men's team and the full women's squad will travel on September 10 to the Bethany College Invite in Lindsborg, KS. 

The Beavers will travel to Sterling College on September 14 and then travel to Ellsworth, KS to take on Tabor College on September 17. The teams will wrap up their fall season at the ITA Fall Regionals in Arkansas City, KS from September 23-25. 

This past May, the men's team finished 9th place at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's Tennis Championships in Tyler, TX. Both freshman Vitor Goncalves and Maxime Guyon advanced to the quarterfinals on the singles side. In doubles for the Beavers, Nathaniel Moore and Auron Hoyer advanced to the quarterfinals with the other two doubles teams consisting of Dante Despontin and David Arrieta, Goncalves and Oleksandr Makarov winning their consolation brackets. 

They finished 8-7 overall on the season and 11 members of the team will return in the fall. Stay tuned to gobeaversports.com for updates on the tennis teams and their fall schedule.
