Beaver Softball End Season in Region VI Tournament

The Beaver softball team competed in the NJCAA Region VI DI Softball Championships this past weekend May 5-6 in Dodge City, KS. The team was the #8 seed entering the weekend's double elimination tournament. Pratt faced the #1 seed Hutchinson Blue Dragons in round one and would go on to play either Barton or Garden City.  

Game One vs. Hutchinson 

The Blue Dragons got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning. La'Cara Skelton homered in the top of the second inning to tie the game 1-1. The Blue Dragons wasted no time in the bottom of the second, bringing home seven runners. The Beavers managed to add another run in the top of the third inning while Hutchinson was held to only two runs. In the fourth inning, Pratt scored two runs while Hutchinson scored five runs for a 15-4 victory. Naveya Gardner led the team with three hits, two doubles, and two RBIs.  

Game Two vs. Garden City 

The Beavers faced Garden City in the consolation bracket on the morning of May 6. The Broncbusters wasted no time getting off to an early lead bringing across seven runs in the first inning. Pratt added three runs in the top of the second to make it 7-3 after two innings. In the bottom of the third inning Garden City scored one run. They added three more runs in the fourth inning. In the top of the fifth, Pratt added an additional three runs and could not get on the board again. They lost 11-6 and were knocked out of the Region VI Championships.  

Pratt finished the season 5-45 and 4-28 in conference play. They advanced to the postseason for the first time since 2018.
