The Pratt Community College track and field team was back in action this past Saturday, Apr. 6 at the Mean Green Invitational held on the campus of the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. The Beavers brought home 6 top-five finishes and five top-ten finishes including one national qualifier.
Freshman Kareem Small qualified for the NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 100m dash on Saturday with a sixth-place finish with a time of 10.49. Joseph Michel finished first in the 100m dash for the third straight meet with a time of 10.20. Other results on the men's side included a fourth-place finish for Sebastion Gilbreath in the 400m dash with a time of 49.25. Both 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay teams finished in the top five of their respected races.
In the long jump, Dillon Pikes finished fifth with a jump of 6.70m. Brock Herrman finished eighth in the hammer throw with a 38.65m throw. Finally, for the men Aiden Skiles finished sixth with a 46.13m throw in the javelin. Sophomore Tashia Bell was the top finisher on the women's side with an eighth-place finish in the 400m dash.
Up next for the Beavers will be a trip to Norman, Okla. for the John Jacobs College Invitational hosted by the University of Oklahoma on April 12-13.
