The Pratt Community College women's basketball team took down another conference opponent this past Saturday as they hosted Cloud County Community College. The Beavers improved to 12-3 overall, and 5-2 in the KJCCC with a 60-44 home win against the T-Birds.
In an overall low-scoring contest, a determined Pratt defense held Cloud County to a season-low 44 points. The feat was a result of forcing the better half of 20 turnovers and limiting the T-Birds to only 30 percent shooting from the field.
Sophomore Courtney Cleveland made a particular effort on the defensive end of the ball by earning a season-high three blocked shots. The second-year forward also ended her night a single rebound away from a double-double by bringing down 9 rebounds. Cleveland also led her team in scoring with 12 points.
Pratt retains a third-place standing among the rest of the KJCCC West. The blue and white are only out-placed by No. 11 Seward County Community College and No. 4 Hutchinson Community College.
The Beavers are now 7-3 in their last 10 contests. While playing at home, PCC is 9-1.
Women's basketball will continue conference play with a road matchup against Barton Community College on Jan. 14 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
