Beavers Pick up Conference Win at Colby

Pratt Community College defeated the Trojans of Colby Community College in a close women's basketball game with a final score of 62-58 on Saturday, Feb. 10. The game started with the Trojans taking an early lead, scoring 20 points in the first quarter compared to Pratt's 12 points. However, the Beavers managed to close the gap in the second quarter, with both teams scoring 12 points each. At halftime, the Trojans were still in the lead with a score of 32-22.

In the third quarter, Pratt made a strong comeback, outscoring the Trojans 19-12. This brought the game to a much closer margin, with Colby leading by only three points going into the final quarter. The fourth quarter was intense, with both teams fighting for the win. The Beavers managed to outscore Colby once again, scoring 21 points. This strong performance in the final quarter allowed Pratt to secure the victory with a final score of 62-58. Macy Hanzlick had a strong performance, scoring 17 points and grabbing 18 rebounds while Emily Acton and Isis Sanders both scored 23 points for Pratt. For the Trojans, Sofia Lopez was the leading scorer with 18 points. 

The Beavers will host the Independence Pirates on Wednesday, Feb. 14 starting at 5:30 PM. The win brought Pratt's record to 10-13 overall and 5-13 in the conference.
