PCC women's basketball faces Independence CC in first KJCCC matchup of the season

The Pratt Community College women's basketball team concluded their four game home stand with a game against Independence Community College. In the first KJCCC matchup of the year, the Beavers fought hard against a lengthy and tall Independence team. Independence held the lead for much of the game with Pratt just trailing behind. The Blue and White went on a late run to bring the game to a single possession in the final minutes. Free throw shooting by Independence secured the victory in the end as PCC falls to Independence 59-63.

Leading the Blue and White from the field was Mackenzie Anderson and Jada Catlin. Anderson finished the game with 12 points and three steals. Catlin led all scorers with 17 points. She also had three steals against Independence. Tiana Tullis and Dakota Smith were the rebound leaders for the Beavers with six rebounds each. Player of the Game goes to Mychaell Gray. She came off the bench for 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

PCC women's basketball travels to Dodge City Community College for their first road game of the season on Nov. 15. Tip-off for the game is set for 5:30 p.m.
