PCC women's basketball falls to Butler CC

Pratt Community College women's basketball returned after the holiday break to host Butler Community College in the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena. The Beavers suffered a second period scoring drought that Butler used to secure the win. PCC loses to Butler 42-74.

The first period saw the Blue and White and Butler battle for control. Pratt held an 11-10 lead at the end of the frame. In the first few minutes of the second period, the battle continued with three lead changes in rapid succession. Scoring woes plagued the Beavers for the rest of the period. Butler secured the lead and extended the deficit to get the win.

Nya Mach made her debut for the Beavers against Butler and made an impact from the start. Coming off the bench, Mach co-led Pratt in scoring with eight points, four rebounds and a steal. Channa Parvin also came off the bench to match Mach's scoring with eight points and two steals. Tianna Tullis was the leading rebounder for the Blue and White with six rebounds. Player of the game goes to Butler's Kyla Callins who finished with 16 points and nine rebounds.

PCC women's basketball hits the road for a two game conference road trip. The Beavers travel to Great Bend, Kan. to face Barton Community College on Jan. 6. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
