PCC baseball gets road win against Kansas Wesleyan JV

Pratt Community College baseball hit the mid-way point of their five game road stretch. The Beavers faced Kansas Wesleyan JV in Salina, Kan. Pratt relied on their bats to take the lead in the third inning and never looked back. PCC takes the win 14-3.

The Blue and White got the bats going right from the start against Kansas Wesleyan with three runs in the top of the first inning. Kansas Wesleyan answered with three runs of their own in the bottom of the first to force a 3-3 tie heading into the second inning. Pratt took the lead in the third inning with five runs. The Beavers scored an additional six runs over the course of the game while holding KWU scoreless to secure the win.

At the plate, Pratt was led by Keaton Gage, Sean Johnson, and Carl Cooper. Gage finished the game going three for four with a team leading four RBIs and two runs. Johnson went three for four at the plate with three runs and two RBIs. Cooper ended the game two for four at the plate with three RBIs and a run.

Declan Steel got the start on the mound for the Blue and White. In three innings of work, Steel allowed three runs and one hit while striking out a team high five batters out of the 17 batters he faced. The Beaver pitching staff combined for 10 strikeouts out of 32 batters faced.

PCC baseball concludes their five game road stretch with a double header against Colby Community College on March 8. First pitch is at 1 p.m.
